Inspired by the period photograph, the doctor performs some minor ‘field surgery’ with a scalpel to remove some shrapnel from the wounded man’s arm. The orderly is ready to assist with a bottle of antiseptic. The diorama was done with the WWI horse drawn ambulance by ESCI.
